The practice of marketing products or service by means of promoting them on the Internet is called Internet advertising or online advertising. This type of advertising carries a number of differences in terms of the type of agreement the advertisers have with the host (the website on which the advertiser’s ads are being displayed), such as how the ads are purchased.

There are many ways that the advertisers would be able to purchase the ads spots. It was explained that many of these variations depend mostly on the frequency of the Internet users’ visits to the host websites, the frequency of the users’ redirection to the advertiser’s website respectively, and the actual completion of a purchase, whish refers to finalizing payment for the product or for users to register with the advertiser’s organization.     

To further clarify, one of the types of ads purchase would be Pay Per Click (PPC), This type of agreement refers to the practice in which advertisers would pay the host website for each click on the ads. This works in a way that once a user types in a word that matches with the target keywords, the host website would display the related ads.
