Communication Technology

In a world surrounded by technology, how do we choose between adequately educating ourselves for the sake of keeping with the hip and happening crowds, and not loose the real meaning of having a face-to-face conversation?

I am sure that most of us are thankful for this communication technology that has allowed us to search, decide, purchase, receive and use products all completed within such short time frame. We also appreciate the easy access it provides to connect with our family and friends, and give us the opportunity to witness our baby niece grow. This is the wonderful side of networking on the Internet. But how do restrict on what matters are acceptable to discuss or comment? How do take control on keeping our personal happenings private? The Wonders of Technology

In the vast moving trend of the business world, human kinds have relied greatly on technology. Let’s face it, there is technology for everything and whether we want to or not, we feel somewhat obligated to educate ourselves with this so called practicality. Yes, we must agree that ‘practical’ is the appropriate word to describe what one can achieve using technology. It is ever-evolving and continuously simplified for the sake of the ‘simple’ people of the targeted market, and it offers just about any product and service one can imagine. With regard to the most utilized technological equipment, it would be fair to suggest that the Internet is amongst the top spots.

We can do just about anything on it, from ordering our weekly food shopping to purchasing a luxury tropical holiday. All with one click of a button! We can receive information about what is happening on the other side of the world, as well as the latest friendly gossip of the neighbour on the other end of the street. Would it be wise to say that technology has saved us and therefore we are able to complete so many tasks with so little time, gain so many acquaintances through so little effort? Or is it directing us, slowly but surely, to a place where it is not necessary to put a name to the face and that social skills are no longer required to socialize?

It is without a doubt an interesting subject to discuss. One may use the Internet purely for work purpose, then distract entirely from it by engaging in technology-free outdoor activities, while others depend on it to do nearly everything in their daily lives. I have been told that it is almost correct to conclude dependency on surfing (or any other related activities) the internet as an addiction. One just has to do it, every time, anywhere. From personal experience, I have actually witnessed the highly available technology to be the sole reason for face to face communication to be going to extinction. I was quite surprised to see the beautiful young couple sitting across the table from us in a restaurant on a beautiful Sunday morning only exchanged words when they needed to settle the bill.
